Minstrel performance: The people of Carson will have an opportunity of seeing a minstrel performance put on the stage by the new light in minstrel circles Charlie Reed. He found that the minstrel drama in the hands of men had reached their zenith years ago. Strutters like Emmerson and the howlers and hamfatters were of a past decade. He is a man of infinite resources and looks upon his profession as something more than a cadaverous face smudged with burnt cork.

Ever noticed: Two sides of a persons face are not alike, one eye is stronger than the other in seven out of ten people. The right ear is higher than the left. One person in 15 has perfect eyes with the largest percentage of defects prevailing among fair-haired people.

Flags: Three more flags off the USS Nevada were received bringing the total to six. All of the flags were on the ship at the time of the Pearl Harbor disaster and are oil stained and discolored. The museum is awaiting the ship’s bell, magnesium chest, and silver service. The ship was used as the bull’s-eye in the atom bombing experiment in Bikini lagoon.

Drug dog, Ben: The canine and his handler, Deputy Sheriff Mike Helms, were called to a traffic stop and the officer noticed a slight marijuana odor. Ben, the dog, was called to the scene and located a small container that held a roach clip and partially burnt marijuana cigarette.
