The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applicants for a vacant seat on the Planning Commission.

The position is for a partial term expiring June 2018.

The commission oversees planning and zoning, land use and growth management and meets the last Wednesday of every month at 5 p.m. in the Sierra Room at the Community Center.

Applicants must be willing to serve approximately 12 to 16 hours a month and be a Carson City registered voter. The position is unpaid.

Applicants can pick up applications at Carson City Hall, 201 N. Carson St., #2.

The application deadline is July 15, and submitted applications are public documents.

The board plans to interview applicants at its July 21 meeting.

The board Thursday reappointed Commissioner Mark Sattler, whose term was expiring, and another seat became vacant when Commissioner Victor Castro resigned the same day.
