A Carson City man was arrested Thursday in connection to a murder/robbery that occurred in Butte County, Calif.
Thomas Thornhill, 38, of Carson City, was arrested Thursday on an outstanding warrant for robbery and murder. Thornhill, along with four other people, are suspected of murdering Adam Wrangham in Butte County on Nov. 23, 2015.
Investigators said the victim had large quantities of processed marijuana at his residence and the involved subjects planned to steal the drugs. At some point, a struggle ensued and the victim was shot. Wrangham was transported from his residence to Enloe Hospital where le later died.
Several of the suspects, including Thornhill fled the state following the murder. Extensive investigation by the Paradise Police, Butte County District Attorney investigators and Butte County Sheriff conducted numerous search warrants and probation searches in Butte County, Arizona, Illinois and Nevada.
Five people were suspected of being involved in the incident: Joshua Bush, 23, of Illinois; Warwick Dinning, 35, of Arizona, Renae Disney, 46 of Paradise, Jeffrey Stinger, 56, of Paradise and Thornhill were all apprehended this week by law enforcement. Thornhill was taken into custody around 10:20 a.m. Thursday near the 3200 block of Arrowhead Road.
The investigation involved several agencies including Butte County District Attorney, Butte County Sheriff, BINTF, Department of Justice, Graham County Sheriff’s Office in Arizona, Herrin Police Department in Illinois and Carson City Sheriff’s Office.
