Cooperative Extension completes staff overhaul

“Although it has taken longer than anticipated, new and exciting things are starting to happen at the UNR Cooperative Extension Office,” says Lindsay Chichester, Extension Educator.

Bianca Galeano, Office Manager, was recently hired. “Having Bianca consistently at the office to meet and greet clientele and to help with day-to-day activities has been a huge relief for the existing staff,” says Jim Barcellos, 4-H and Youth Development Community Instructor.

“In the last six months there have been a lot of staff changes, but now all of the pieces are in place, and we look forward to trying and doing new things,” adds Chichester.

Also, returning to the Carson City Cooperative Extension Office is Wendy Hanson Mazet, whose expertise is in horticulture, arboriculture, noxious weeds, vegetable gardening, and low water use gardening. Mazet will be in the Carson City Office two days per month. She will be in the office June 10 and 17. If you would like to visit with Mazet or drop off samples for her, please contact the office to learn when she’s going to be in. Galeano and Marzet join 4-H and Youth Development Community Instructors, Barcellos and Sandy Wallin; Hispanic Outreach Coordinator, Leticia Servin; part-time Office Assistant, Karen Beatty; and Extension Educator, Chichester.
