Local health care professionals honored for excellence

The Perry Foundation Endeavor Awards recognized the state’s top-performing health care facilities and health care professionals working in long-term/post-acute care with an event at the Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks on June 2.

Local Endeavor Award recipients include: Achievement in Social Work — Tara Rasmusson, Gardnerville Health & Rehab; Extraordinary Therapist — Nolan Cassidy, Gardnerville Health & Rehab; Activities Program Excellence — Carol Wilson, Carson Valley Senior Living; Innovation in Dining — Terri Graeber, Gardnerville Health & Rehab; Bronze Endeavor Award for Quality of Care Excellence in a Skilled Nursing Facility — Carson Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carson City.

The Perry Foundation is a non-profit organization who provides education to the health care professionals in Nevada’s nursing homes and assisted living communities. The Endeavor Awards honors individuals who excel in providing outstanding care. Last year it awarded more than 2,000 continuing education units to licensed administrators, executive directors, licensed nurses, and social workers throughout Nevada.

Miles Construction earns awards

Northern Nevada’s Miles Construction recently received several awards for projects completed and overall achievement both nationally and in the region.

The construction company was awarded the Best Public Use Development Award at the Summit Awards for the Carson City Multi-Purpose Athletic Center. The Summit Awards is an annual event that recognizes the success of commercial agents, brokers, developers, property managers as well as commercial projects in Northern Nevada.

In addition, Miles received three awards from American Buildings Company, a Nucor Company.

The company earned Top 10 West Division for outstanding sales and achievement; top 25 nationally for outstanding sales and achievement; and top volume West Division last year. This is the first time Miles Construction has achieved all three in the same year.
