Mint papers coming. Good for us! Reckoning by the usual rates of time for the transmission of mail, those papers will reach here inside of 10 days. The cornerstone of the Mint, according to our prediction, will be laid by the middle of June.

All sorts. Charley Brown the undertaker of Virginia City is talking of opening an establishment here. Several strong anti-Chinese people, (on paper) are giving their washing to Chinese men after dark.

Jobs for veterans. Veterans and widows of veterans who are residing permanently in Nevada will not be required to satisfy the one year residence requirements for admission to the State Merit System for positions with the Employment Security department. Positions now open and which examination are held are accountant, claims examiner, clerk-stenographer, bookkeeper and clerk.
