The American Cancer Society will be holding its annual celebration for cancer survivors and caregivers at Relay for Life. The event will be held at Mills Park, 1111 E William St., on Saturday. Relay for Life is a family-friendly event with entertainment, food, games, raffles, bounce house, and other activities included.
The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Festivities open with cancer survivor Mayor Bob Crowell and continues with live entertainment and fun all day long. The Luminaria Ceremony will be held in the evening as the track is lit up to honor or remember loved ones who have fought cancer. Also, be sure to hang out afterward, the last raffle of the night is for two Southwest Airline tickets to fly anywhere within the continental United States or Puerto Rico (must be present to win).
According to the event website, 26 teams (291 participants) have raised $24,250.
