Walkaway inmate, Michael David Lillie, caught Tuesday

Michael David Lillie, who walked away from a prison work crew in downtown Carson City last Wednesday, has been recaptured in Woodland, California.

Lillie, 37, was charged with giving false information to a police officer and taken to the Yolo County Jail on Tuesday where he was ordered held on a warrant issued by the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Department spokesman Brook Keast said Lillie could face up to six additional years in prison for the escape. She said that sentence would have to be served consecutive to his other sentences —which were for felony DUIs.

Lillie was paroled on a 2010 DUI and serving 26-120 months imposed by a Carson City judge for felony DUI in 2013. He was approaching his parole hearing on that sentence and housed at the Stewart Conservation Camp in Carson City when he escaped from a work crew May 11.

In addition, he was facing an additional felony DUI sentence of 4-15 years from a 2015 arrest in Douglas County once he was paroled from the Carson conviction. That sentence, set to begin in 2018, would be consecutive to the first sentence before he could begin serving whatever sentence is imposed for the escape.

Keast pointed out that, after the escape, “he’ll never be back in a camp.”
