Real estate firm expanding in area

SVN Gold Dust Commercial Associates, a full-service commercial real estate brokerage firm, is expanding to Northern Nevada by welcoming Travis Landes as a Carson City Commercial Real Estate Advisor.

Landes will be working alongside Managing Director Thomas Y. Johnson, CCIM. Landes will focus primarily on helping lease, sell or purchase commercial property in the Northern Nevada market.

Prior to joining SVN, Landes worked at ArchCrest Commercial Partners, where he specialized in office, investment and development projects. Landes has lived in Nevada since 1998 attending Carson High School and then studied Business at the University of Nevada, Reno. Landes is also a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, Young Professionals Network, working on his designation as a Certified Commercial Investment Member and Business Networking International.

Award given to Carson based nonprofit

Pets of the Homeless, a nonprofit that feeds and provides emergency veterinary care to pets of homeless people, was recognized for outstanding achievements as a family owned business and for making significant contributions to the community and giving back.

After witnessing the need for the homeless and their four-legged companions, Genevieve Frederick founded Pets of the Homeless. Ten years later, the organization has a network of nearly 400 collection sites in the U.S. and Canada, and has taken in more than 407 tons of pet food and supplies. In addition, Pets of the Homeless has helped treat nearly 13,000 pets at hospitals and clinics.

The Nevada Business Magazine Family Owner Business Awards began in 2010 as a way to recognize hardworking families throughout Nevada. Genevieve and her daughter, Renee, were honored in the “Don’t Forget to Share” category.

Aseph joins WNC Foundation

WNC Foundation announced the addition of Sherry Aseph as foundation accountant.

Aseph has a work history contributing to various departments for the state of Nevada in both accounting and clerical roles. She and her husband live in Dayton where they are avid golfers.

DeBug Computer moving to new location

As of June 27, DeBug Computer, Inc. will be operating out of 1817 N. Stewart St., Suite 30, in Carson City. The company said it outgrew its current location, at 591 S. Saliman Road.

It last moved after a decade of business from the old V&T train depot on Carson Street into its office on Saliman Road, where it spent three years.

Carson physician joins medical society

Nicholas J. Carlevato, MD, FACR, has been inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Radiology. The induction took place at a convocation ceremony during the ACR 2016 — The Crossroads of Radiology meeting May 15 in Washington, D.C.

Carlevato is a staff radiologist and partner at Tahoe Carson Radiology and staff radiologist at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center in Carson City. He’s also staff radiologist at Northern Inyo Hospital in Bishop, Calif. He’s a member of the ACR, Nevada Radiological Society and the Society of Interventional Radiology. He received his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Loma Linda, Calif.

One of the highest honors the ACR can bestow on a radiologist, radiation oncologist or medical physicist is recognition as a fellow of the American College of Radiology. ACR Fellows demonstrate a history of service to the College, organized radiology, teaching or research. Approximately 10 percent of ACR members achieve this distinction.
