Gardnerville couple celebrates 60th anniversary

Gardnerville residents Judie and Lee Hartwick will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary June 2.

The couple were married in Montrose, Calif.

Judie volunteers at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center in the senior center’s gift shop.

Lee is a member of the Tahoe Douglas Elks.

They have two children, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

“We have been asked more than once what our secret to a long successful marriage is,” Judie said. “We agree that there is no secret or magic formula. We feel that luck or fate has brought us together, but most importantly the things that have kept us together are patience, mutual respect and a sense of humor.”
