Resuscitation: New York — The child of William Wells died suddenly from an attack of diarrhea. From all appearances the child was dead, and he was laid in the coffin which was placed in the front room. The family retired early in the evening to prepare for the funeral. During the night Mr. Wells heard a noise in the front room and went to drive it out. Imagine his surprise to find the body of the child turned in the coffin. When he raised up the lid, the young boy opened his eyes, looked up and started to cry. The father’s heart leaped with joy. The child was fed and is doing well.

Scarlet fever: Every house where someone has scarlet fever should display a red flag. Every person coming from a sick chamber should wear a strip of red cloth on the arm. The City Trustees should pass an ordinance compelling these precautions to be taken. Scarlet fever will run riot in this city during the winter if something is not done immediately.

In brief: Miss Jo Roberts is in Reno under the care of Dr. T. P. MacDonald. She is suffering with nervous dyspepsia but is slowly improving. (Miss Josephine Roberts of the Foreman/Roberts House.)

Carson kids set food drive record: Students from Carson and Eagle Valley Middle School are being called heroes after a record-setting canned food drive. “To say that they did well is an understatement,” according to Monte Fast, spokesman for Friends in Service Helping.
