100 babies in a stable (English paper): An old stable has 100 little babies nestling in the horse troughs and is a spectacle seen daily in the locality of Union street, in London. Rev. George Alding, at his own expense, secured an old stable to form a nursery and fitted it up for taking care of babies of women obliged to go to char or work. The hay cribs remain and serve as cradles.

Balloon ascent for the Yule season: Hot air ballooning will kick off the 1966 Christmas shopping season with Santa Claus himself. The colorful balloon called “Libra” will rise to the heavens with Santa Claus on board.

Robber: The Wells Fargo Bank branch was robbed at gunpoint. FBI agents and the Carson City sheriff’s deputies are looking for a thin, Caucasian man, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, in his late 20s to early 30s with light-colored shoulder-length hair.
