Carson City marketer, Kathie Taylor, managing partner of In Plain Sight Marketing LLC, was awarded a Bronze Spike award from the Sierra Nevada Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America at the organization’s annual awards dinner at the Whitney Peak Ballroom in Reno Thursday evening.
Taylor was the project lead on the University of Nevada, Reno’s #VermontFor50 campaign last year, managing market research, photography, videography, web, graphic and advertisement design resources, social media and analytics and reporting. Taylor shares the award with the marketing communications team at the university.
The campaign was designed to bring national awareness to the university’s diverse student population. #VermontFor50 garnered national media attention for its creative approach to marketing, with articles written about the campaign in the Wall Street Journal and the New York Post, among dozens of other news outlets across the country.
“I’m honored to have been a part of the campaign and to work on behalf of the university to bring national attention to Northern Nevada,” Taylor said. “The campaign was a fun way to showcase the beauty of the area and the excellent educational opportunities we have to offer.”
Bronze and Silver Spikes are awarded to the highest scoring entries, deemed a model for the profession, in a variety of categories.
This year, the Sierra Nevada Chapter partnered with the Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter of PRSA, which chose the winners based on judging criteria provided by the Sierra Nevada Chapter.
Individual award winners were selected by a committee of local chapter members and community members.
