Integrated advertising, marketing and strategic communications agency, Bauserman Group has a new location and a new name. Now known as Foundry, the firm moved to downtown Reno and into the once-vacant bottom floor of the Montage.
According to owner Jim Bauserman, the overall vision for this move was to create an inspiring and functional work space that will be a long-term positive addition to downtown Reno. “We believe in downtown and the momentum we are seeing. We’re excited to be a part of that.”
Bauserman tapped local H+K Architects for the design, which required a full build out and took 10 months to complete.
H+K Architects principal Jeff Klippenstein, AIA, described the new space as a reflection of Bauserman and his team. “We loved that Jim involved his crew in the process. It was a joy to design. We may produce different things, but the creative process is the same and that’s what made this project so much fun.”
The project wasn’t without challenges. According to Klippenstein, working within an existing structure presents certain obstacles and the mezzanine was the most challenging part from a code and structural standpoint. The end result however was worth it.
“When we finished with the design process, I thought ‘this is Foundry,’” said Klippenstein. “It perfectly reflects the firm’s personality, which is special.”
As the agency was preparing to move offices to Downtown Reno, Bauserman and the team recognized that this move offered more than just a new setting, it was an opportunity to rebrand.
“As proud as I have been to have my name on the door, the firm has evolved. We have a very talented team and I want them to feel like they are a part of something bigger - it’s not my firm, it’s ours,” said Bauserman.
Bauserman explained the meaning of the name Foundry, which by its dictionary definition, is a factory where molten steel is poured and metal cast. “To us, it is a symbol of our ethics – hardworking, honest, solid, authentic, real, ironclad. Here, we forge ideas. We craft strategies. We lay solid foundations. And we create brands that are built to last.”
