Northern Nevada HOPES, a nonprofit community health center located in downtown Reno, is calling for submissions for its first annual “OutWest Film Fest,” set for Oct. 16 – 18.

The three-day festival will celebrate LGBTQ films with screenings, discussions and parties held across downtown Reno. A wide range of movies will be screened during the festival, including shorts, documentaries and feature-length films.

HOPES has partnered with Good Luck Macbeth Theatre and the Nevada Museum of Art as venues for the film festival.

HOPES is encouraging local and international filmmakers to submit any LGBTQ-themed shorts, documentaries or features to be screened during the festival. Filmmakers will also have the chance to engage with audiences during Q&A sessions, panels and more.

The deadline for submissions is Sept. 15. Filmmakers can go to outwestfilmfest.org to learn more about submitting their work.
