Granite Construction Incorporated announced that it has been awarded a $151 million roadway project by the Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County. Granite will book the project into its second quarter backlog.
According to a release from Granite, the SouthEast Connector is a new six-lane roadway that will run approximately 5.5 miles from the intersection of Sparks Boulevard and Greg Street to the intersection of South Meadows Parkway and Veteran’s Parkway. The new road will create a vital North/South link between Sparks and South Reno.
Scope of the Phase 2 work includes five bridges spanning various water features, retaining walls, soundwalls, utility installation and relocations as well as flood volume mitigation work. Construction will began this month and is scheduled to be complete by December of 2017. For more information on the project, visit www.southeastconnector.com.
