Barbara Richardson has been appointed as commissioner of the Nevada Division of Insurance.
Richardson replaces Scott Kipper, who resigned in July of last year. Amy Parks, who served as acting commissioner during the interim, will resume her primary responsibilities and duties as chief insurance counsel at the division.
Richardson previously served as the director of operations and fraud for the New Hampshire Insurance Department for the past eleven years. She also was an adjunct professor at the University of New Hampshire School of Law and Franklin Pierce College and worked as a private practice attorney.
Richardson earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Vassar College and a MBA in finance from Loyola University.
