Clifford D. Nelson Jr. has been named chief executive officer of Reno-based Silver Predator Corp. He also was named to the board of directors of the publicly held mining company.
Nelson succeeds Nathan Tewalt, who resigned as CEO but remains on the company’s board.
Since 2013, Nelson has been president of Springer Mining Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of Silver Predator. He previously worked as vice president of operations at Comstock Mining Co., served as chief operating officer and executive vice president of operations at Golden Predator Corp. and held positions with Inspiration Resources, Magma Copper Co. West Gold and St. Andrew Goldfields.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering and materials science from Michigan Technological University.
