Derrick Martin has been named head coach of the Reno Bighorns basketball club, a member of the NBA Development League.
Martin spent the 2015-2016 season as a radio analyst for the University of California, Los Angeles men’s basketball team. Prior to that, he spent three seasons as an assistant coach at St. John’s University.
Martin played 13 seasons in the NBA with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Vancouver Grizzlies, Los Angeles Clippers, Sacramento Kings, Dallas Mavericks, and the Toronto Raptors. He also served as an assistant coach for the Timberwolves after his playing career ended.
Martin graduated from UCLA, where he played basketball for the Bruins.
