United Federal Credit Union is partnering with the Sierra Nevada Chapter of the Association of Records Managers and Administrators International to host a shredding event at the University of Nevada, Reno on Saturday, April 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The public may drop off paper products in the UNR north parking lot on Comstock Drive, near the intersection of Virginia and McCarran. Items will be shredded on site by Iron Mountain, Inc. Iron Mountain, a AAA certified company by the National Association for Information Destruction.
In addition to paper shredding, Lifecycle Solutions will be also be on hand to collect unwanted electronic items for recycling. Electronic goods will be accepted free of charge, with the exception of two items: TVs ($25) and CRT ($10).
Donations to benefit STEP2 also will be collected during the event. STEP2 is a program that provides resources to women who are struggling to overcome substance abuse disorders, poverty and family violence.
