Dr. Francine Peterman

Dr. Francine Peterman has been named national director and dean of the Teachers College at Western Governors University.

Peterman, who has more than four decades of experience in K–12 and teacher education, previously was department chair and professor at Cleveland State University in Ohio, served as professor and dean of the College of Education and Human Services at Montclair State University in New Jersey and was professor and dean of the Division of Education at Queens College of the City University of New York. Peterman was a classroom teacher and district curriculum coordinator who taught for 12 years in public schools in Miami and four years in Tucson, Ariz.

She earned a Ph.D. in teacher education from the University of Arizona.
