REMSA (Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority) and Care Flight presented the 43rd annual national EMS Week with an employee recognition event that also acknowledged first responder community.
Those honored were:
Nicole Cox, communications specialist for instructing a 9-1-1 caller about how to administer CPR to his wife.
Tana Dixon and Megan Meagher, critical care flight nurses for administering the Heimlich Maneuver in a hospital cafeteria.
John Williams, paramedic, Rich Norgrove, paramedic, and Alex Rodreiguez, paramedic for their response to and attachment with Sparks Police Department and Reno Police Department during an active hostage situation.
Cole Adema, paramedic and Mark Pederson, advanced EMT for working with law enforcement to extinguish a fire and extract a victim at a car accident scene.
Emily McKenzie, paramedic was selected by her peers through REMSA’s Employee Resource Team for the Star Care award for her paramedical skills and compassion on a variety of response calls.
Glenn Jones, paramedic, ground supervisor was also chosen by his peers through the Employee Resource Team for the Star Care award for his work on the Vehicle Supply Technicians program – a project considered outside of his normal scope of work.
Stacie Selmi, paramedic, ground supervisor, was previously selected by the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars in Nevada as the EMT/Paramedic of the Year.
Scott Zettlemeyer, paramedic was previously awarded with the EMT/Paramedic of the Year Award.
Hyun Chin, registered nurse was previously chosen as the Priority Solutions Emergency Communications Nurse of the Year for her work with the REMSA Nurse Health Line.
