Granite Construction Company has begun work at the Reno-Stead Airport to improve taxiways to provide safe access for professional and hobbyist pilots.

Granite has adapted its schedule to accommodate the Reno Air Races, and will remove and replace the existing Taxiway C, including all aircraft tie-downs and the compass rose monument. Granite will also improve the edge lighting system during the course of the project.

Construction is expected to be completed in October at a price tag of $3 million.
