Lara Mather has been promoted to executive director of the Fourth Ward School museum in Virginia City.
Mather replaces Barbara Mackey, who is retiring.
Mather previously was the museum’s archivist.
She earned a master’s of arts degree in cultural anthropology with a graduate certificate in gender, race and identity and a bachelor’s of arts degree in anthropology with a minor in museum studies from the University of Nevada, Reno.
