Dawn Donovan, David Squier, Michael Roth, Evan Pearson and Carmel Hilton have been named to new positions at Moana Nursery.
Donovan was named landscape architect.
She previously served an ecologist specializing in wetland restoration and she worked as an AmeriCorps volunteer. She also worked as an instructor at Truckee Meadows Community College in the LEED certification program.
Donovan earned a bachelor’s of science degree in environmental science and ecology from Sierra Nevada College.
Squier was named commercial construction manager.
He previously served as vice president at Turf Authority and was the construction manager for Reno Green.
Squier earned a bachelor’s of science degree in secondary education from UNR.
Roth was named store manager at Moana’s South Virginia Street location.
He has previous retail management experience including seasonal department lead for Sears Holdings Corporation, assistant manager for San Lorenzo Lumber Company Garden Center, store manager at Bushnell Gardens Nursery and The Happy Frog Garden Center.
Roth completed the Certified Nursery Professional training through the UNR’s Cooperative Extension program.
Pearson was named store manager at the Moana Lane location.
He previously worked at Moana Rock in an assistant management position.
Pearson earned a bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Oregon completed the Green Industry Training from UNR.
Hilton, was named manager of Wild Birds Unlimited store-within-a-store at all three of the Moana Nursery locations.
Hilton previously worked as an application support analyst for Microsoft, as a presentation and marketing designer for the United States Navy, and as a technical lab research assistant for the Patuxent River in Maryland.
Hilton earned a bachelor’s of science degree in ecology and systematic biology with a concentration in wildlife from Cal Poly, San Louis Obispo.
