Taxable sales in Washoe County during August were up by 3.6 percent over the same month a year earlier.
Carson City and Douglas County each posted sales gains of more than 12 percent, the Nevada Department of Taxation said.
In Carson City, vehicle sales during August were up 13.6 percent over the same month last year. Washoe County vehicle sales were up 5.4 percent, while furniture stores posted a 4.6 percent increase.
