CCNN
Career College of Northern Nevada will receive $119,015, as part of a grant from the Nevada State STEM Workforce Challenge program. The grant program is funded through the Nevada State Office of Science, Innovation, and Technology.
The funding will allow CCNN to purchase and install training materials and robotic and hydraulic equipment for the school’s Industrial Electronics Technology (IET) program.
Plumas Bancorp.
Plumas Bancorp., the parent company of Plumas Bank announced record earnings for the three- and six-months ended June 30.
Earnings during the second quarter of 2016 totaled $1.8 million, an increase of $482 thousand, or 36% from $1.4 million during the three months ended June 30, 2015.
Earnings per diluted share increased to $0.36 during the three months ended June 30, 2016 up $0.09 from $0.27 during the second quarter of 2015. For the six months ended June 30, 2016,
Plumas Bancorp. reported net income of $3.4 million, an increase of $840 thousand, or 33%, from $2.6 million during the six months ended June 30, 2015. Earnings per diluted share increased to $0.67 during the six months ended June 30, 2016 up $0.16 from $0.51 during the first six months of 2015.
Station Casinos LLC
On July 11, 2016, Station Casinos LLC filed an application for a special use permit to build a casino and entertainment facility on the approximately 8-acre parcel it owns on South Virginia Street across from the Convention Center.
The company will also file an application with the Nevada Gaming Control Board to relocate the grandfathered non-restricted Reno Turf Club gaming license to that location.

Radial, formerly eBay Enterprise, plans to hire an additional 550 workers in its fulfillment center in Reno to support the 10-fold increase in demand during the upcoming holiday season.

Unemployment rate
Nevada’s unemployment rate rose slightly to a seasonally-adjusted 6.4 percent in June, but experienced strong job growth.
In June, the Silver State experienced the strongest over-the-month gain in employment in 11 years, adding a seasonally-adjusted 7,500 jobs.

Nugget Casino Resort
Nugget Casino Resort has added Catalytic PURE AIR purifiers to their Housekeeping Department.
Catalytic PURE AIR purifiers were already being utilized in the new bingo area on the main gaming floor. The housekeeping department has added five additional air purifiers to improve indoor air quality in the smoking hotel rooms, public spaces and for odor control.

Reno City Council unanimously approved a contract to Peek Brothers Construction for expansion of the parking lot at Damonte Ranch Park in an amount not to exceed $160,111.40 from Residential Construction Tax District 4 Fund.
The Council also unanimously approved a contract for repairs to four courts at the Reno Tennis Center to Advanced Asphalt, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $96,976 from Donations and Park Capital Maintenance Funds.
SEWER REHABILITATION PROJECT
Council unanimously approved a contract to Q&D Construction for the 2016 Sewer Rehabilitation Project Phase 1B in an amount not to exceed $8,021,006.69 from the Sewer Enterprise Fund. This project includes the rehabilitation and/or replacement of approximately 9,200 feet of aging sewer pipe within the City of Reno. The scope of work is generally in the Fourth Street area.
