Dollar Book Swap Reno held their ribbon cutting last week. Located at the Great Western Marketplace, 4855 Summit Ridge Drive, the store will be open every Friday 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m.- 5 p.m. Community is a huge part of the store’s mission. AAA GAS PRICES
Nevada state gas prices register as the fifth highest in the nation, due to refinery issues on the West Coast that continue to push prices upward. Silver State prices are registering at $2.48 a gallon of unleaded regular, up $0.04 per gallon from a AAA fuel gauge report of August 9, 2016.
In all Nevada metro areas tracked by AAA, Reno is registering the state’s highest pump price, with drivers paying an average price of $2.69 per gallon for unleaded regular gas. Carson City is registering Nevada’s lowest price, at $2.36 a gallon.

CITY OF RENO
Council unanimously approved a request to relocate an existing State-approved Medical Marijuana Establishment for a Production Facility registered and permitted under state law. A New Leaf Production Center, LLC has requested to relocate from 800 Stillwell Road, Suite 60 to Suite 50.
Acting City Manager Bill Thomas announced that the City of Reno recently received one of only 13 national Accela Trendsetter Awards.
Council unanimously approved for staff to enter into an Exclusive Negotiating Agreement between the City of Reno, Reno Puck Club, and the Reno Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority (RSCVA). Staff asked that Council establish a 45-day period during which the Puck Club shall have the exclusive right to negotiate with the City and RSCVA terms of an agreement to support a minor league professional ECHL hockey team at the Reno Events Center (REC), and for the management and operation of the facility.
Reno Arch maintenance and refresh project: General maintenance is needed on the Arch, such as cleaning and repainting portions and replacing the existing gold skin, which has been damaged.
Staff was directed to get more public input, via such methods as the Neighborhood Advisory Board (NAB) meetings, social media, and surveys. Staff will come back to Council after receiving public input.

Nothing to It Culinary Center is hosting a cooking class with recipes from the cookbook NevadaGrown: A Year in Local Food on Saturday, Sept. 24, 10 a.m. – noon, at Nothing to It Culinary Center, 225 Crummer Lane in Reno. STOCKMAN'S CASINO
Full House Resorts demolished the administration office building at Stockman’s Casino in Fallon to make way for a new, landscaped and well-lit parking lot, providing convenient and improved access to the casino.
The two existing casino entrances on the west side will be enhanced with architectural details, energy-saving foyers and a visually appealing porte-cochere. Landscaping will be planted around the building for improved curb appeal. Replacement office space will then be added towards the back of the property, connected directly to the casino.
The project is expected to cost approximately $1.5 million and the public spaces will be completed by year-end. The main office space is expected to be completed in early 2017. This follows recently made improvements to the casino interior, including new carpeting and enhancements to the slot machine floor.
