Carson City Victim Services Administrator receives national certification

The Carson City District Attorney’s Office said Thursday one of its own has received national recognition for her services with victim assistance.

Frankee Haynes, Carson City Victim Services administrator, was certified by the National Organization for Victim Assistance as an Advanced National Victim Advocate, one of the highest recognitions achieved within the organization. This certification requires extensive training in multiple advocacy categories including domestic violence, homicide, sexual assault and child abuse.

“It has been my sincere pleasure to help victims get through some of the darkest times in their lives,” said Haynes. “Each and every client leaves an imprint on me and their stories give me the strength to continue fighting to stop the cycle of violence.”

The Victim Services Division with the District Attorney’s Office was established to assist victims through the criminal justice system and help them form an emotional and financial support system after the conclusion of the judicial processes.

Haynes has been with the Victim Services Division since 2000, with nearly 16 years of victim support services.

“Being an effective victim advocate is probably the most challenging job in our office,” said District Attorney Jason Woodbury. “Haynes has a natural gift for connecting with victims, helping them understand the process, and getting them back on their feet. The training she had to complete to get the advanced certification made her even better.”
