Northern Nevada Development Authority (NNDA) today announced that Cosmetic Enterprises Ltd. (CEL) will be expanding their manufacturing facilities into Dayton, Nevada. CEL plans to invest a substantial amount of new money in their new Lyon County facility while retaining their existing manufacturing plant in Pacoima, California.

CEL produces premium cosmetic and skin care products, such as shampoo, moisturizers, skin enhancing lotion and skin protecting products, using botanicals and other raw materials. The company manufactures products for a wide variety of firms from small businesses up through Fortune 500 companies.

CEL plans to hire up to 30 employees in the first year of operations with an average wage and benefits well in excess of current labor standards. Jeff Page, Lyon County Manager, said in a press release, “Lyon County is excited to see another business expand its operations to Lyon County and the Sierra Region. This brings additional jobs to the County as well as fills a vacant industrial building. It is exciting to see business ventures grow from an inquiry to an actual operation.”

Jesse Woods, Chief Financial Officer, CEL, stated, “CEL is excited to be joining the Northern Nevada business community. After numerous visits and interviews in different states and cities, we discovered that the Sierra Region met our requirements better than any other location.” He continued, “The key factors that influenced our decision included the close proximity to our clients and marketplace, the temperate climate, the available local workforce, the family-friendly atmosphere, and the favorable corporate and personal taxation programs. Beautiful Lake Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra Nevada Mountains are icing on the cake.”

“Cosmetic Enterprises is a great addition to Lyon County,” said Andrew Haskin, Director of Business Development for Northern Nevada Development Authority. “Not only are they creating the kind of higher paying jobs that help boost the region, they will be great corporate citizens. We look forward to continuing to work with Cosmetic Enterprises as they bring their new facility online.”

NNDA worked closely with NV Energy, NAI Alliance Carson City, and Miles Construction in order to assist Cosmetic Enterprises with their expansion. NV Energy provided an energy analysis which assisted the company in meeting its power needs. Andie Wilson and Brad Bonkowski, NAI Alliance Carson City, worked closely with CEL towards the purchase of a 60,000 square foot facility in Dayton and adjacent property for possible future expansion. Miles Construction will be working closely with the organization in regards to the improvements to the existing facility.

All new construction at the facility is expected to meet US Green Building standards, as CEL has a strong focus on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and has a strong focus on being an environmental friendly neighbor.
