Cheers & Kudos: Thanks to volunteers for help with Richards Crossing

Richards Crossing, a permanent residence for veterans, disabled persons, and others who are homeless, is coming close to opening in Carson City.

I just wanted to thank and commend the members, including many young people, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Saliman Road for not only collecting canned goods, non-perishables, paper goods and toiletries, but helping us, the Carson City Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, fill totes of these supplies for each apartment.

The facility itself is beautiful, with all new furnishings, a community garden, and services like counseling, job training, and clinicians in-house.

There are too many features and various contributing groups of volunteers to list here, but for certain, everything is top notch and will be ready to provide a new start and safe, lovely surroundings for these folks that Carson City can be very proud of.
