The much-anticipated Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel will be opening as the city’s first branded, non-gaming, full-service hotel.
Vicki Savini, general manager of the new Renaissance, a Marriott brand, was ecstatic for the hotel’s opening
“We’re all excited for the property opening, especially for those who were involved from the beginning,” Savini said.
The property officially converted to Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 5. A public grand opening will coincide with the Renaissance’s annual Global Day of Discovery on May 17.
“On Renaissance’s Global Day of Discovery, every property in the brand does something special to celebrate the day,” Savini said. “We’re now hotel number 162 in the Renaissance family and we thought it would only be appropriate to have a big celebration on that day.”
The Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel features 214 guest rooms, including 28 suites with views of its picturesque surroundings. The onsite full-service restaurant offers al fresco riverside dining, and a seasonal, outdoor pool and hot tub, as well as state-of-the-art exercise facilities. The property also offers 38,200 square feet of flexible meeting and event space.
Owned and managed by Fernando Leal, the visionary and principle behind some of the city’s largest downtown redevelopment projects.
“Northern Nevada, specifically Reno, is quickly emerging as a premier destination beyond its gaming roots, and the opening of the Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel will raise the standards for hospitality in the city,” Leal said in a press release.
Another attraction in the hotel is Bundox Bocce, an entertainment venue that features seven indoor bocce courts, two 50-foot projection screens, and a restaurant and bar. Bundox Bocce also features a newly built 10,000 square-foot outdoor patio that accommodates a full service bar, outdoor dining area, private event space and two additional courts. Bundox is scheduled to open to the public in early May.
