American Business Women’s Association hosts its annual National American Business Women’s Day luncheon Wednesday, Sept. 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa. The luncheon will include the recognition of the 2017 scholarship winner, distinguished guest speaker Dr. Erin Oksol, and a raffle. The mission of the American Business Women’s Association is “to bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership; education, networking support and national recognition." This holiday was recognized in 1983 and again in 1986 by Congressional resolution and a proclamation issued by President Ronald Reagan. It commemorates the extraordinary legacy and contributions of the more than 68 million American working women and 7.7 million women business owners. The mistress of ceremonies will be Andi Guevara, KTVN Channel 2 News Anchor in Reno Nevada and the afternoon's keynote speaker is Dr. Erin Oksol, clinical psychologist, business success coach, corporate trainer, author, and motivational speaker. Oksol is a recurring columnist for a successful lifestyle magazine for female entrepreneurs in Nevada and California. As a professional speaker, she enjoys inspiring groups, businesses, and non-profits. With 18 years of clinical experience in her private practice and coaching business, Dr. Erin is an expert in human behavior and change. She will be educating guests on techniques and action steps to go from where they are to where they want to be! With a passion for helping others find their mission, get on mission, and stay on mission, Dr. Erin brings a sense of humor and energy that will have guests feeling inspired and ready to play BIG in life. The special luncheon is being held for the 13th consecutive year by the Reno Tahoe Express Network Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) and is open to non-members. Proceeds from the luncheon help fund scholarships for women pursuing a college education and members attending professional development certificate programs through ABWA’s annual National Leadership Conference. Tickets for the special event are $40 per person, with group tables seating eight at $300, and must be purchased by September 17. Tickets can be purchased on the ABWA website at www.ABWA-Reno.com and following the ABWDay link.
