Scott Gescheider and Matt Pulliam have been promoted by Moana Nursery.
Gescheider was promoted to President and CEO of Moana Nursery, where he will oversee operations in Canby, Ore., three retail garden centers in northern Nevada and landscape services operations in Nevada and California.
Gescheider has worked for Moana Nursery since 2005, and previously led the company’s landscape division. He is also former United States Naval Supply Officer and third generation Navy veteran, and former chairman of the Northern Nevada Better Business Bureau.
Gescheider earned a degree in hotel restaurant management from Cornell University and graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno’s MBA program.
Pulliam was promoted to general manager at Moana.
Pulliam joined Moana in 2005, first in the contractor services department. He has held various positions within the company including green goods manager, services coordinator, and store manager. Prior to joining Moana Nursery, Pulliam was a project coordinator at Jerry Mitchell, Inc. for 10 years. He also managed Springtime Gardens, a retail nursery in Reno. In addition, previously served as a farm manager for a wholesale grower of ornamental plants where he oversaw the production planning, propagation, maintenance, sales and shipping of plants for the northern California market.
Pulliam has worked in the nursery and landscape industry for nearly 30 years.
