LAS VEGAS – Reno drivers are the only Nevadans paying more than $3 at the pump this week, as gas prices continued to fall across the West Coast. But for how long? On Tuesday in Las Vegas, drivers paid an average of $2.57 per gallon, and in Reno drivers paid about $3.02 — each region paying about 6 cents less than a month ago, according to AAA surveys of local stations. Carson City drivers paid an average of $2.56, down 17-cents from last month. Average gas price in Sparks was a little better than Reno at $2.98, down 5 cents. The national average price for gasoline was $2.26, a 3-cent jump from last week. “Gasoline prices in Nevada continued to trickle down this week, even as the rest of the country saw a spike in prices,” said AAA Nevada spokesman Mike Blasky. "But with the national average price going up, that could be a signal that prices will increase again this summer." The price of crude is hovering at $45 a barrel.
