The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) seeks companies and contractors interested in performing fuel treatment projects in Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico. The projects will help reduce wildfire hazards, the potential for catastrophic fires, and threats to public and firefighter safety. The solicitations will remain open for 30 days and interested parties should submit bids by Aug. 11.
The solicitations include both mechanical and manual treatments. Mechanical treatments include work primarily done by machines including mastication, thinning, chipping, chaining and mowing. Manual treatments are primarily done by hand and include slashing, pruning, hand piling, spot application of herbicide and thinning.
