Good bricks: Col. Curry built a kiln and made an experiment by burning two thousand bricks free from gravel and other blemishes. He found clay in the hills west of the city and intends building another kiln and burning two hundred thousand of the same.

Robinson’s circus: People came from Bodie, Empire, Genoa and Esmeralda — the best society mixed with Chinese women and Indians and all hands enjoyed alike. The D’Alma family showed what could be done on a bicycle by riding on one wheel and then taking an ordinary wagon wheel and making good time on it.
