Miles Construction, a diversified Northern Nevada general contractor, and Cosmetic Enterprises Ltd. began construction June 14 on a new 80,000 square-foot facility. When complete, Cosmetic will expand its current Los Angeles-area operation to the Dayton location at 95 Lakes Blvd. with a manufacturing and assembly operation at the Dayton Industrial Park.
Cosmetic Enterprises formulates, manufactures and packages cosmetics and pharmaceuticals for its clients. The company’s capabilities include hair, face and body care products, skin care oils, sun care products, and over the counter pharmaceuticals. Cosmetic is known for its quality assurance processes, experienced staff of chemists, and specialty in tube filling.
“We are pleased to welcome Cosmetic Enterprises Ltd. to the Northern Nevada business community and to support the addition of another manufacturing operation to the local economy,” Cary Richardson, vice president of business development for Miles Construction, said. “This is a unique and complex construction project requiring strict compliance with Good Manufacture Practices for the cosmetics manufacturing industry.”
Miles will construct the Cosmetic plant using materials such as stainless-steel wall coverings, stainless piping, washable extruded plastic ceiling panels, and urethane coatings for floors and exposed steel. Miles of process piping and electrical will be installed in the process area. There are also a series of mechanical units that will utilize HEPA filtration and climate controls to maintain a clean, perfectly controlled environment.
