Talk of the Town: Waiting for flowers to come back

Feeling a bit under the weather

With my spine surgery

I’m not all together.

I’m on pain pills and a brace

A walker, at that.

I’m feeling less than normal

And a little out of whack.

Of course, what is normal?

What are you?

It’s a setting on your dryer,

What temperature do you do?

I have these little sayings

When I am in a pinch.

You need to laugh at yourself

Or you will be a grinch.

I can growl at my husband

When we disagree.

He will growl right back.

Now, we agree to disagree.

Sometimes, it’s just a test of wills.

Either, you will, or you won’t,

But don’t say, “Whatever!”

Because then you mean, please don’t.

We all make mistakes

We all will make more.

It’s because we’re human.

So don’t ever keep score.

I was planning to write about flowers

With their beauty, oh so sweet.

As I look out upon the snow

Nary a flower will I meet.

I know it’s really crazy

What the mind will do.

Change things all around

From normal to flowers too.

Well, normal is still the setting.

And the flowers will come back.

Maintain a sense of humor

About everything

And next week I’ll be on track.
