Resumed work on the Mint: Carpenters and blacksmiths in accordance with instructions from Washington to Commissioner H. F. Rice have resumed work on the Mint building. In a couple months we may expect Uncle Sam to ad to the circulation of greenbacks in our midst.

Suffrage: The new Act of the Kansas Legislature gives women the right of suffrage in all local elections — and authorizes the local authorities to exclude from registration as voters all women who were not born in this country.

Man and horses lost: The Carson River is higher than it has been for many years. This morning a six-horse team went on the bridge and the whole structure gave way carrying the horses, wagon and driver. They are all reported lost.
