The Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce is launching a new educational series. The event is free for Chamber members and $5 for non-members. To kick off the series Benefit Resource Group will be presenting on 'The Future of Employee Benefits.' The presentation will cover the changing landscape of employee benefits under the new administration. Recent changes in the past year that employers of all sizes should be aware of will be highlighted. Some of these will be the future of the ACA under the Trump administration, an update on the overtime exemption rules, potential paid family leave legislation, and a discussion on the effort to remove the employer tax exclusion on employee benefits. The presentation will be given by Randy Gabler who has been with Benefit Resource Group since 2012. Randy serves as the agency's Director of Compliance. In this position, he serves as a principal resource for compliance and regulatory issues. He provides guidance to over 250 small and large employers on a variety of compliance issues that affect fully insured and self-funded group health insurance plans, including, but not limited to, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), Wellness Programs, private and public insurance exchanges, HIPAA, HITECH, ERISA, COBRA, and other applicable federal and state laws. Additionally, Randy assists clients in evaluating options pursuant to PPACA's employer shared responsibility (Play or Pay) mandate as well as notifies clients through compliance alerts and communications as new developments arise and as issues affecting group health plans and reporting become relevant or pertinent. The seminar will take place from 12-1 p.m., Thursday, March 30 at the Reno-sparks Chamber, 1st Floor.
