The story of the von Trapp family and its beloved governess, Maria, will be played out at Carson City’s Brewery Arts Center in June.
Wild Horse Children’s Theater is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a production adapted from the musical “The Sound of Music.”
Featuring an all-youth cast, “Getting to Know the Sound of Music” will play June 9-11 and 16-18 in the BAC’s Performance Hall, 511 W. King St.
The production is adapted and shortened for youth performers from the original musical.
Organizers say the underlying theme remains intact: we each have a life we were born to live, and it’s our task to find that life.
Audiences can expect to hear popular numbers like “My Favorite Things,” “Do Re Mi,” “Climb Every Mountain,” and “The Lonely Goatherd.”
Performances are at 7 p.m. Fridays; 2 and 7 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays.
Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for students and seniors and $5 for anyone 10 and younger. Children 3 and under are free.
For tickets, go to www.wildhorsetheater.com, or call 775-440-1170. If available, tickets will be sold at the door.
