Carson City’s Historic Resource Commission and Debt Management Commission have openings.
The Historic Resources Commission spot is for a member from the building construction industry.
The commission reviews and makes decisions regarding projects in the Carson City historic district, makes recommendations to the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors regarding historic resources.
Applicants will be interviewed by the Board of Supervisors. Applications are due July 7.
The Debt Management Commission is seeking a citizen-at-large to fill a partial term expiring March, 2019.
The commission reviews proposed bonded indebtedness, makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors based upon statutory limits on Ad-Valorem, rates and tax caps, and establishes debt management policies.
Meetings are held every August and February and may also be scheduled at the call of the chairman. Members are expected to commit at least 10 hours a year to the commission.
Applications are due by June 12. Review and/or interviews of the applicants are tentatively planned for the next scheduled Debt Management Commission meeting.
All commission members serve without compensation.
