Man with gunshot wound crashes car in Carson City Sunday

A Washoe County man's condition is unknown at this time after Carson City Fire/Paramedic crews found him with a gunshot would to the chest. Crews responded to a crash at the intersection of Hwy 580 (southbound) and College Parkway in North Carson City.  As Paramedics began to treat the driver of the single vehicle accident, they reported discovering that the driver had a small caliber gunshot wound to his chest.  The driver, a Washoe County resident, was transported to Renown Medical Center by Care Flight.  His immediate medical condition is not known and his identity is being withheld at this time. The 580 and College Parkway exit was closed for most of the afternoon as investigators processed the vehicle and attempted to gather information related to the incident, Sheriff Ken Furlong said in a press release. "At this time, the victim has not been able to provide any useful leads.  Due to the seriousness of the injuries, Carson City Detectives have not yet been able to obtain a complete interview of the victim, who is expected to survive his wounds," Furlong said.
