Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Aug. 3. A, B, or C grades are given based on the inspection score, which starts at zero. Points are added for each violation. Note: Low-risk factors are noted but not factored into scoring, although restaurants are still required to correct them.

Bleu Cafe, restaurant and bar/lounge, 244 E. Winnie Lane, score: 0, grade: A.

The Blue Bull, 107 E. Telegraph St., score: 0, grade: A.

Bodine’s Casino, restaurant, 5650 S. Carson St., score: 0, grade: A.

Caterpillar’s Hookah Lounge, 314 S. Carson St., score: 0, grade: A. The bathrooms were missing a self-closing mechanism on the door (repeat violation).

Codfather, mobile food vehicle, score: 0, grade: A.

Del Taco, 822 E. College Parkway, score: 0, grade: A. Test strips weren’t readily available to measure sanitizer concentrations.

SlotWorld, Betsy’s Big Kitchen, 3879 E. Highway 50, score: 0, grade: A.

Wingstop, bar and lounge, 3965 S. Carson St., score: 0, grade: A.

Carson City Public Safety Complex, 885 E. Musser St., score: 2, grade: A. Interior surfaces of the ice machine or receptacle were moldy. Test strips weren’t readily available to measure sanitizer concentrations. Ware washing equipment was inadequate, damaged or otherwise in need of repair.

Jack in the Box, 309 E. William St., score: 4, grade: A. The hand-wash sink near the drive-thru was being used as a dump sink. The interior surfaces of the ice machine or receptacle were moldy. Floor, wall and ceiling surfaces were dirty. Food debris and pooled grease were found in the walk-in cooler and freezer and under shelving and line equipment.

Maverik, 1451 College Parkway, score: 4, grade: A. Code 003, prohibiting employees from eating, drinking or using tobacco where the contamination of food, equipment and other items can result, was in violation. Code 006, mandating handwashing sinks be easily available, stocked with soap and disposable towels and exclusively used for handwashing, was in violation. A knife was being stored between two stainless steel work surfaces (corrected on site).

Nice & Easy Catering, mobile food vehicle, score: 0, grade: A. The plumbing wasn’t properly sized, installed or maintained; the inspector observed an inadequate flow of water. The non-critical violation was fixed by the time a follow-up inspection was conducted.

Wingstop, restaurant, 3965 S. Carson St., score: 4, grade: A. Code 003, prohibiting employees from eating, drinking or using tobacco where the contamination of food, equipment and other items can result, was in violation. Code 006, mandating handwashing sinks be easily available, stocked with soap and disposable towels and exclusively used for handwashing, was in violation.

Heidi’s Family Restaurant, 1020 N. Carson St., score: 8, grade: A. The following health codes were in violation: 001, requiring the person in charge to be present during food operation and demonstrate knowledge of food safety practices; 006, mandating hand-wash sinks be easily available, stocked with soap and disposable towels and exclusively used for handwashing; 012, outlining cleaning frequency ; and 016A, regarding time and temperature controls for potentially hazardous food.
