Joanie’s Creekside Cafe & Catering, 1795 E. College Parkway, Suite 100, score: 2, grade: A. Staff didn’t wash their hands before putting on new gloves.

Max Casino, sports bar, 900 S. Carson St., score: 2, grade: A. Code 012, mandating cleaning frequency of equipment, food-contact surfaces and utensils, was in violation.

Living the Good Life, restaurant, 1480 N. Carson St., score: 4, grade: A. The code requiring the person in charge to be present during food operation and demonstrate knowledge of food safety practices was in violation. All food wasn’t properly labeled.

Bella Fiore Wines, 224 S. Carson St., score: 7, grade: A. An inadequate amount of chlorine residual was detected on dishes after the mechanical dishwasher’s final rinse. The certificate of manager-level food safety training was unavailable or expired. Cleaned and sanitized equipment and utensils, laundered linens, and single-service and single-use articles were being stored in an unapproved location where sources of contamination were present. Test strips weren’t readily available to measure sanitizer concentrations. The plumbing wasn’t properly sized, installed or maintained. Staff members weren’t able to use one of the sink’s three basins due to a major leak, hindering their ability to manually wash dishes.

Eagle Valley Golf Course, restaurant, 3999 Golf Centennial Park Drive, score: 9, grade: A. Raw meat was being stored above cooked chicken. The certificate of manager-level food safety training was unavailable or expired. The restaurant’s methods for cooling food were inadequate to achieve rapid cooling. The inspector saw chicken being placed directly into the cooler after being cooked. Frozen and potentially hazardous food was being thawed in a manner that doesn’t minimize microbial growth. Bacon and chicken were being left out to thaw. Floor, wall or ceiling surfaces were dirty. The surfaces under the line equipment needed to be cleaned. Potentially hazardous food was being held at temperatures that support micro-organism growth.
