Overland omnibus: The omnibus passed through Carson City on its way to California. The size and shape resembles a streetcar on wagon wheels. It contained an emigrant family on their way from Indiana to Santa Clara, Calif. They started on the 1st of June. The mode of conveyance would seem a very convenient, comfortable way of traveling.

Crow eaters: The crow eaters will meet at the State Convention in this city. What a palatable bid the crow has recently become to the democracy.

All sorts: Sam Cohn of this city will be married to Miss May Hass of Virginia City. Died in Empire Sept. 22, infant daughter of Dominic O’Gara. The funeral will take place at Empire. Friends and relatives are invited to the funeral.

Ford Motor Co.: William Clay Ford Jr., the 41-year-old great-grandson of Henry Ford, was named to take the wheel at Ford Company that controls 40 percent of the company’s voting shares.

All sorts: The Warm Springs’ new coach, drawn by four spirited animals, attracted much attention on the street yesterday. (The coach was driven from Carson to what is now the prison.)

Carson City growth: Carson City has become a victim of its own growth and prosperity as more people and autos combine to form a tightening noose of traffic. According to a study done by the Carson Chapter of the Nevada Society of Professional Engineers, the following recommendations have been made for Carson’s needs: more arterial streets, a one-cent increase in gasoline tax to pay for them, and the creation of a regional street and highway commission.

Silver Mountain: Two shocks of earthquakes were felt coming from the north and passing through the south. The first shock was light, but immediately succeeded by a much heavier one, followed by a strong rotary motion. This last one was the most severe ever experienced.

Street masquerading: We have at diverse times met young men and women attired in the apparel of the opposite sex. A young man attired in female apparel passed by the Ormsby House. This masquerading may only be in a vein of merriment; but if we are not in error, there is an ordinance prohibiting that sort of sport.

Snow: There was quite a heavy fall of snow in Carson and Empire precincts in this country. The snow began to fall at 8 o’clock in the morning and continued until 6 at night, falling steadily all day, except when the Inspectors of Election took lunch. On Sunday morning the Appeal sent a reporter out. The editor of the Appeal had to run a tunnel into his office to get hold of his notebook. George Tyrrell who came forward and assisted him shoveling through the worse drift.
