Jonathan Moore named Nevada acting education superintendent

Jonathan Moore has been named acting superintendent of education replacing Steve Canavero, who resigned.

Moore has been deputy superintendent of student achievement since November. He was previously a deputy associate superintendent at the Arizona Department of Education.

Gov. Steve Sisolak said he’s confident Moore will lead the department faithfully during the transition as he works with the State Board of Education to select a new superintendent.
