Carson City Fire Department doing fuel reduction in Vicee Canyon area

Carson City Fire Department will be continuing wildland fuels reduction, prescribed fire operations in Vicee Canyon in the Timberline area, the department said on Facebook Wednesday morning.

“Operations may continue through the winter, depending on weather. Smoke will be visible. Please do not report. If you are sensitive to smoke or have respiratory problems, you may need to keep your windows closed or stay indoors depending on smoke conditions.

For the duration of the scheduled operations, prescribed burning will only be conducted when weather conditions are favorable. Carson City Fire Department considers all environmental factors and through the service of highly trained personnel hopes to reduce the potential for fire hazards.”
