Christian Encounter Ranch of Grass Valley, California, will hold its annual Agony Ride fundraiser on Friday and Saturday in the Sierra Valley (about 1 hour northwest of Carson City off of Highway 70). During the event, cyclists commit to riding their bicycles as far as they can in 24 hours and are sponsored on a per-mile or flat rate basis.
Christopher Palmer of Washoe Valley will be riding for the seventh time this year. To date, he’s ridden 1,910 miles and raised more than $17,000 for the ministry.
The Agony Ride is the primary fundraiser for CER, which seeks to see broken lives restored in Christ and restored lives reaching the broken world around them. At CER’s 86-acre ranch, 16-25 year-old residents receive love, spiritual guidance, and counseling. CER is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability. All gifts are tax deductible.
Sponsor a rider, sign up to be a sagger, or follow the ride’s progress at agonyride.org. Learn more about CER at christianencounter.org.
